About Us

Hampton County High School, located in Varnville, South Carolina, is a public high school dedicated to empowering students for life through academic excellence, career readiness, and community engagement. The school serves students in grades 9–12 and emphasizes a well-rounded education that prepares graduates for both college and the workforce 

The academic program includes a variety of core and elective courses, as well as opportunities for dual enrollment, career and technical education, and college and career readiness initiatives. The school also provides support through counseling services and a media center to help students succeed in their academic and personal development 

Athletics play a vital role in student life at Hampton County High. The school’s teams, known as the Hurricanes, compete in a range of sports including football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, track & field, and more. These programs foster teamwork, discipline, and school spirit, making them a proud part of the school’s identity.
